Republic of Rome – Pre Order Open

Valley Games is ready once again with another brilliant old classic visually restored to new splendor! Republic of Rome is finally ready and we have now opened the pre-orders up, but we only have 750 copies to sell this way. We have all the art files at the printer and the game is starting production right now.

In the past we were offering limited edition items to go along with the pre-orders but we had quite a few issues with them and so we have increased the initial discount to 40% off retail instead of having bonus items. We hope you understand but we thought that making the game well and getting it to you quickly would make more sense than complicating it with bonus items.

For those of you that have been involved with our pre-order program in the past understand the process, for those of you that are new to it, here’s what is going to happen:

The game is now at the printer and production has started, it’s going to take anywhere from 30-40 days to produce the game, from there the games will ship by boat to a North American port, this can take from 22-30 days. Once in port, it needs to clear customs, this used to be a big problem for us but we have an excellent broker and we can see things coming through in about 4-7 days now. Then the product is trucked to a warehouse where they start packing them up and sending them out to you, about 5 days. From there FedEx ships anywhere in the USA in about 4 days.

Total time is 65-86 days all total to your door.

When you place your order, please advise the address you will be at in about 60 days as you could be receiving games by that time and we don’t want to miss you.

Just to make it clear, once we sell 750 copies we will be closing the pre-orders and you will then see the games on store shelves in September.

This is a fantastic title and we have some of the best artists out there who worked on the game: Kurt Miller, Mark Poole and Patrick Turner. We have also had a gentleman by the name of John Rodriguez going through all the errata to make the rules so complete that you won’t have to ever look for supplemental information again. It has really been a thorough production and we are once again honoured to be producing it.

Please note that we are focusing on North America as we have less shipping issues there. For those of you outside of North America, you will still have the opportunity to pre-order but the shipping will be done by Air and by FedEx so it will be very expensive. We have no choice as the logistics problems we had in the past made it very difficult to ensure delivery. In many cases we had to reship to customers as the carriers over there lost or damaged the games. We apologize but it is the only solution that is guaranteed to work over there.

Torben

Hey Torben. Like Louie (and others)… I’m anxious to see the arrow point from printing to orange (Shipping?). I hate to assume that will happen any day now, so I’ll ask.

Will that be happening any day now?

Like a kid would say, “Are we there yet?”
