Republic of Rome Update

Greetings all,

Thank you for the many emails of support from everyone. We really appreciate it.

The game is officially printing now, the plastic tray issue has been resolved, unfortunately it is now going to be a different insert due to those issues but it still looks great. This is the busiest time of the year, starting in August, for printers and so we had to be worked into a slot with that problem from the trays. So we are now fully printing. The printer also understands the necessity of this making it to North America as quickly as possible and so they are working hard to make that happen.

We have been told that the game will be done printing in about 3 weeks, for those of you coming to Essen we will have ONE copy to show, maybe two, but it will be for people to see it, not buy it, sorry. We will not be selling the game there so please don’t ask or send email to order one for pick-up. This is one that we will be flying in to show everyone what it looks like other than that, the rest are going to be shipped as normal.

That ship takes about 21 to 28 days to arrive depending on weather conditions so we are hoping to see it by the end of November, the printer has guaranteed that the first week of December is the latest on our floor in the warehouse ready for shipping to you. From there it will take about 4-6 days to ship to you via FedEx.

So, once again, we want to offer to all of you that have pre-ordered the game, the opportunity to get a full refund if you need it, no questions asked. We understand that you can’t wait forever and there have been a few that needed their return, no problem at all. Please advise me torben@valleygames.ca and I will get it back to you as promptly as I can. It will really help if you have a Paypal account and you can advise me of it (we pay all fees), then we don’t have to email back and forth.

Once again, we apologize for the delay but it’s not far now. We also thank all of you for your support and understanding in this.

Regards,

Torben Sherwood

Woot! Woot! There’s a light at the end of the tunnel! I’m so glad to hear that you guys are making headway. I’ve waited this long and have no intention of giving up yet! Too bad I won’t make it Essen, I’d love to take a gander at it! Maybe you guys can post a couple of pics! That’d be nice. Its just that little’o Texas is just dang far from everythin’!

We’ll take lots of pictures to show everyone what it looks like and I’ll create a gallery here on the website.

Any idea when it might be hitting European shores?

    Hi Mike,

It all depends on who is picking it up, there are a few distributors that order from the USA so you should be able to find it just before Christmas. The retailers in our Retailer Locator page are probably the best bets.

Excellent. The guys over at Shire Games are great; I’ll be sure to grab a copy through them. Any estimates on the likely price of the game here in the UK?

Any chance we can get our hands on a .pdf of the revised rules yet?

What? I just pre-ordered this last week and I should have it by Christmas? I was expecting this to take longer, my wife is going to kill me when she sees that charge! Oh wait, you’ve already charged me, carry on. ;-)

Hannibal was my first Valley Game and left me quite satisfied actually, looking forward to my second!
