Final Kickstarter Reward Announced

Dear DDDicers,

First, my apologies for not posting this sooner. The last few days of the Kickstarter campaign were pretty hectic (44K in the last 2 days!), and I needed to take a little breather.

Of course, all good things must come to an end (although bad things never do). Watching the DDD Kickstarter is kinda sad, now. I feel like a kid looking at his dead hamster: “Why isn’t he moving anymore?”

We worked on a lot of ideas for that final reward. The pressure was on, and topping the other gifts was really hard. A few days ago, we had what we thought was the greatest idea ever, and just before we could announce it, the deal fell through.

The problem is that we can’t afford to spend weeks to find the perfect reward that will please everyone, as we are busy putting the finishing touches on the game and its expansions (we have added a token sheet for the base game, some optional rules here and there, and we are tweaking various aspects of the production, like the “recipes” for the speckled dice).

So what we offer is simple, yet it comes from the heart: a unique and exclusive Resource Card.

This can replace any one Resource card from the game, and is a reminder to the other players that the owner of the game helped us invade Kickstarter and conquer the top spot.

Also, we’ve decided to give you all 2 copies of both the Distinguished Service Pack and the K-Pack. These will make great gifts for your loved ones, or your jealous friends, or can simply serve as replacements if your dog eats your originals.

The truth is, we could never find an adequate gift for our supporters. Nothing comes even close to the gratitude we have for all of you, so I’ll leave you with a big, enormous THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS. And I’ll even add a “MERCI DU FOND DU COEUR” for our Swedish-speaking friends.

In the next days/weeks, I’ll post some updates on the components, as we are receiving samples from the manufacturers. Our Unit markers are almost done, and the speckled dice should follow. Then comes the tin box, the MGF dice and the Russian brides.

And on behalf of Valley Games, I wish you all (yes, even our non-supporters) a very happy Christmas and a wonderful new year, filled with extra ammo and RWB bonuses.

Next stop… Airborne in my Pocket!

E

PS: Just to be extra-clear: this Resource card will only be available to our Kickstarter supporters. It won’t be sold or given anywhere else.

PPS: The “theme” of this Resource card is actually a preview of what’s in store for you guys next year: the Legendary Units.

$171,805 raised for D-Day Dice!

This has been the ride of a lifetime and between Emmanuel, Rik and myself we are spent!

First of all, we could not have reached this milestone without all of the support we got from our pledgers. You also kept it fun out there as we were climbing while we were running around trying to get stretch rewards secured, thank you for this.

Secondly, your patience with us as we learned along the way how this whole thing worked, once again thank you for putting up with the late posts and updates.

Lastly, Thank You, you made D-Day Dice the highest funded game of all time on Kickstarter.

Here is a final screenshot of the end result, we will look on this with fond memories for sure. Now, we have some work to do and we look forward to delivering your games in March!

Project Updates

D-Day Dice – The final stand

Only 24 hours left!

Okay, we are on the home stretch, D-Day Dice has just 24 hours left to go, if you have been on the fence about coming on board with this great project you need to see all the stretch rewards that are being given away.

We are extremely humbled by the outpouring of support on this project and in response we have been trying to make the rewards the best that have ever been given. Judging by the comments written on the various websites out there, we are succeeding on that side and it is something we are glad to do.

With that being said, we are nearing the end and this is a great opportunity and we would hate for anyone to miss out on it. Here is the link one last time for anyone that would still like to get on board.

New Arrival – Octopus’ Garden

In other news Octopus’ Garden has landed on US soil so we have been told by our warehouse staff and they are expecting it to arrive today! Upon arrival the crew there are going to be quickly turning it around and fulfilling orders to all the distributors, so if you have been waiting on a copy, you should see it  very soon in your local game store.

For more information check out our website and the details on Octopus’ Garden. From there you can find other links to rules and other images.
